Awaiting the Souls Return

A musculoskeletal sculpture that moves like a real body. It’s conception was influenced by George Bataille’s document ‘Abattoirs’ and Eli Lotar’s photographs that accompanied the essay. Through the act of making, Norris explores themes of repair, re-membering and re-connecting; whilst simultaneously investigating the sacred and the profane through the entangled and hierarchical relationship that humans have with other beings.
